The Supreme Court of Ukraine adopted the relevant decision. In the 2000s, 3 hectares of the island were transferred free of charge for development. Court cases have begun regarding the return of these lands to Kyiv.
More than 5 years of struggle led to the victory: protected areas returned to the community of the capital. Zhukiv Island is a unique natural complex of the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The island is 1630 hectares of the protected area, and at the same time is the home to more than 120 Red Book species of plants and animals.

By the way, the territory in question is the first Ukrainian Koncha-Zaspa reserve. We have a book about it on our website!
