The Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group (UNCG) has recently equipped the “Valley of Roses” (Dolyna Troyand) ecotrail with new informational stands. We are planning to host several guided excursions for children along the trail to immerse them in the natural world and share fascinating facts.
The ecotrail is a little over one kilometer long and takes no more than an hour to walk.
The trail is located near the village of Pokrovka, on a peninsula formed by the channel of the Chychyklija River in Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. The area within the trail is a steppe ecosystem. The true highlights of this location are the incredible views of the valley and the “Chychyklija River Canyon” landscape reserve. While walking the trail, visitors can encounter several rare plants, including hairy feather grass (Stipa capillata) and Scythian broom (Genista scythica).
Throughout the walk, visitors will be able to learn more about the region’s history, the interesting plants and animals that live in the Chychyklija valley, and the valuable ecosystem services that nature provides all around us.
