The Swiss company SGS is a world leader in inspection services, expertise, testing and certification. In the russian market, their subsidiary SGS Vostok Limited has been operating for over 40 years. During this time, the network of branches, offices and laboratories has grown to more than 70 cities. The number of employees of the company is almost 6000. It is possible that an acquaintance of one of them is already transporting stolen children’s sneakers to his daughter in Russia.
The full-scale russian aggression continues through the financing that russia receives from the export of russian goods and products, which is possible through the permits and certification, including those provided by SGS.
The company’s scope of activity is extremely wide and extends to almost all sectors of the russian economy: agriculture, food industry, energy, mining, construction, transport and oil and gas!
SGS Vostok Limited is a huge business that examines and certifies products and services from raw materials to finished products, provides consulting and expert services, establishes logistics that help companies export products abroad and use the money to commit the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
According to their official sources, SGS Vostok Limited’s technical base contains more than 60 test laboratories across Russia, which perform more than 3.1 million tests a year – in the 43 days of the war there were about 300,000 tests, as the company continues to conduct multibillion-dollar business in russia!
During the 43 days of russia’s war against Ukraine, SGS Group on none of its official pages on social networks has expressed support for Ukraine and condemned russia’s actions, and the russian unit continues working! For more than a month, the company has been turning a blind eye to the fact that the money raised from doing business in russia and Belarus is turning into the blood of killed, murdered and raped civilians in Ukraine by Russian soldiers.
Moreover, in response to our request, SGS Headquarters replied that they were concerned but would not take any action yet. Because they “feel responsible for their employees in russia”, who in their opinion “are not responsible for the actions of the russian authorities.”
In our opinion, the reason here is completely different – the desire to make money in the russian market.
Therefore, we once again appealed to SGS Group to cease operations in russia and Belarus, and also asked their subsidiary in Ukraine SGS Ukraine to insist on this request.
