The restoration of drained wetlands is a conservation trend that has recently reached Ukraine. However, its practical implementation requires careful planning and consideration of details – both legal, technical, and organizational.
That’s why we have prepared a translation of a practical guidebook on peatland rewetting, developed and published by our colleagues in Poland and Iceland. We will present it on Monday, May 5, at 5:00 PM (Kyiv time).
You can join the event on the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group (UNCG) Facebook page.
The guidebook was translated as part of the project “Nature-Based Solutions in the Restoration of Wetlands for Biodiversity, Improved Water Quality and Climate Change Prevention.” The project is being implemented in partnership with Snowchange Cooperative (Finland) and Ogólnopolskie Towarzystwo Ochrony Ptaków (Poland) and is supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM).
